What is the Objective of the DU Financial Support Scheme?
The main objective of launching the scheme is to provide Financial-Aid to all the students who are full-time bonafide studying in any UG / PG Degree program at a Department/ Institution/ Centre of the University of Delhi.
Note : Students with family income of less than INR 4 lakh will receive 100% tuition fees waived. Students with an annual income of more than INR 4 lakh and less than INR 8 lakh will receive 50% tuition fees waived.
The primary aim of the DU Financial Support Scheme is to make sure that no deserving student has to drop-out because they can’t afford it. This creates a welcoming environment for students from poor backgrounds.

Financial Benefits :
The quantum of financial aid under the DU FSS is directly linked to the student’s annual family income. The scheme is divided into two categories to cater to different levels of need:
- Category 1: Annual Family Income up to ₹4,00,000
- Students in this category are eligible for a 100% waiver of their tuition fees. The financial assistance provided can be up to ₹15,000 or the actual fee amount, whichever is less.
- Category 2: Annual Family Income between ₹4,00,001 and ₹8,00,000
- Students in this category are eligible for a 50% waiver of their tuition fees. The financial assistance provided can be up to ₹10,000 or the actual fee amount, whichever is less.
Eligibility Criteria :
To ensure that the aid reaches the most deserving candidates, the university has set forth clear eligibility criteria. Please review these carefully before applying:
- Enrollment Status: Applicants must be full-time, bona fide students pursuing any undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate (PG) degree program at a Department, Institution, or Centre of the University of Delhi.
- Academic Record: The student must have a clean academic record for the previous academic year and should not have an Essential Repeat (ER) in any subject.
- Family Income: The total annual family income of the applicant must not exceed ₹8,00,000.
- Ineligible Courses: Students enrolled in the B.Tech and Five-Year Integrated Law Program are not eligible to apply under this particular scheme.
Documents Required :
To complete your online application, you will need to have xerox copies of several important documents ready. While the official-portal will provide the final list, you should generally prepare the following:
- Annual Family Income Certificate: Issued by a competent authority (e.g., Tehsildar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate).
- Previous Year’s Mark Sheets: To verify your academic standing and confirm the absence of any ER.
- Student’s Bonafide Certificate: Issued by your college or department.
- Copy of Fee Receipt: For the current academic year.
- Student’s Bank Account Details: A copy of the passbook or a cancelled cheque showing the student’s name, account number, and IFSC code.
- Aadhaar Card: For identity verification.
